{"id":2758,"date":"2023-02-15T15:32:02","date_gmt":"2023-02-15T21:32:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iimsprod.wpengine.com\/tsphd\/?page_id=2509"},"modified":"2023-02-24T14:01:56","modified_gmt":"2023-02-24T20:01:56","slug":"application-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/iims.uthscsa.edu\/education\/education\/tsphd\/application-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Application Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Translational Science PhD program utilizes a single application source through the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.<br \/>\nApplicants have the responsibility for the timely submission of application materials to the TS PhD program in order to meet the deadlines established by each institution\u2019s Graduate School for registration and course enrollment.<\/p>\n<p>Please click\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gsbs.uthscsa.edu\/prospective_students\/gsbs-application\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here\u00a0<\/a>for the online application for the TS PhD program.<\/p>\n<p>The online application for the TS PhD program is available\u00a0here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required documentation<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>All Applicants<\/strong>\u00a0includes (see Admission Requirements for additional details):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Online application<\/li>\n<li>College\/university transcripts (official)<\/li>\n<li>Letters of recommendation (3)<\/li>\n<li>Personal Statement<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vitae<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, for\u00a0<strong>Foreign Nationals<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores<\/li>\n<li>Visa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, for\u00a0<strong>Licensed Health Care Professionals<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Medical license\/certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Official test scores and transcripts should be sent to:<\/strong><br \/>\nRegistrar&#8217;s Office<br \/>\nUT Health Science Center at San Antonio<br \/>\n7703 Floyd Curl Drive, MC 7702<br \/>\nSan Antonio, TX\u00a0 78229-3900<br \/>\nInstitution Code:\u00a0 6908<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requests for an exemption\u00a0<\/strong>to general admission requirements that are not addressed in the online application should be addressed to the TS PhD Program Director at:<\/p>\n<p>Translational Science PhD Program<br \/>\nc\/o Giovanna D&#8217;Ambra<br \/>\nPharmacotherapy Education and Research Center<br \/>\n7703 Floyd Curl Drive, MC 6220<br \/>\nSan Antonio, TX\u00a0 78229-3900<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>International Students<\/u>:<\/strong>\u00a0Applicants from outside the U.S. who possess the qualifications or equivalents outlined in Admission Requirements are eligible to apply to the TS PhD Program.\u00a0 Any international applicant accepted into the program will be required to have an F-1 student visa, and as a stipulation of the F-1 student visa must be a full-time student in the program.\u00a0 Students with other visas will be considered on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n<h5>Application Review<\/h5>\n<p>Once complete, all application documents and required admission materials will be made available to the Admissions Committee of the TS Committee on Graduate Studies (TS COGS), which may be the full TS COGS.\u00a0\u00a0 The Admissions Committee will review each application individually and will consider the applicant\u2019s personal statement, undergraduate and graduate course work and degree(s), scores on the\u00a0TOEFL\/IELTS\/Duolingo (if applicable), letters of recommendation, CV, and all other required documentation submitted with the online application. \u00a0Top scoring applicants will be invited for interview with one or more of the Admissions Committee\/TS COGS members and\/or the Program Director, which may be conducted in-person, by phone, or online<\/p>\n<h5>Home Institution Designation<\/h5>\n<p>Each student in the TS PhD Program must declare a Home institution. \u00a0The home institution will be the institution of record for admission, dissertation research, and graduation, and it will be the primary institution for fees, financial aid, student health services, and other student services.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the information provided in the application and at interview, a Home institution that best meets the needs and interests of the applicant will be determined by the TS COGS Admissions Committee or TS COGS.
