Small Troubles, Adaptive Responses (STAR): Frontline Engagement in Quality Improvement
True to the ISRN principles in conducting Network Studies, Co-Investigators Eileen P. Engh, MSN, RN-BC, CPN, from Children’s National Health System and Kathleen Stevens are partnering to launch STAR-2++. The Co-PI team reflects commitment to leverage viewpoints from academic scientists and clinicians to enrich research.
Network Study Investigates Small Problems (aka, operational failures) that Prompt Work Inefficiencies and Suboptimal Care Quality
This extends the first ISRN Network Study, Small Troubles, Adaptive Responses (STAR-2): Frontline Nurse Engagement in Quality Improvement. In this 3rd wave of the study, frontline nursing staff use specially-designed pocket cards to detect and report small problems that prompt workarounds, inefficiencies, and suboptimal care quality.
