Robert L. Ferrer, MD, MPH

Dr. Ferrer is currently Deputy Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Ferrer earned his Bachelor’s degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University and his MD from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then received his MPH in Health Services from the University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Ferrer has received several honors and awards, some of which are for clinical teaching and research. He was chosen as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Generalist Physician Faculty Scholar, one of only 15 chosen nationally for this program.
