What is the Improvement Science Research Network?<\/h3>\n

The Improvement Science Research Network is the only National Institutes of Health\u2013supported improvement research network. Our primary mission is to accelerate interprofessional improvement science in a systems context across multiple sites.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a0Improvement Science Research Network<\/em>\u00a0(ISRN) is the only National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported improvement research network. The ISRN\u2019s primary mission is to accelerate interprofessional improvement science in a systems context across multiple sites. The uniqueness of the ISRN is its focus on organizational systems makes it possible to scientifically explore the system effect(s) on the delivery of healthcare in the acute care setting.<\/p>\n

The launch of the development phase of this National Institute of Nursing Research project was announced October 2009 by NIH.<\/p>\n

The ISRN fills a national gap in improvement science, creating a central structure upon which to build a sustainable, comprehensive network for testing which improvement approaches work in acute care settings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Who We Are<\/h4>\n

The\u00a0Improvement Science Research Network<\/em>\u00a0is a network of national and international healthcare professionals and organizations, the Network Coordinating Center<\/a> and a\u00a0Steering Council<\/a>. A unique technology infrastructure connects the Network and supports the conduct and dissemination of improvement research studies.<\/p>\n
