Become a Leader in the Field
The Improvement Science Research Network (ISRN) offers members a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from around the country on improvement science research projects based on the ISRN Priorities for Improvement Research. Through collaboration, ISRN members will leverage an unprecedented potential to improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery, both locally and nationally.
Participants in ISRN collaborative research efforts will:
- Access ISRN Coordinating Center resources to conduct studies and disseminate findings
- Use the ISRN’s unique technology infrastructure to support study execution
- Design and implement improvement science research studies with the goal of improving patient care within microsystem and system contexts and across acute care hospital sites
- Establish and endorse standards and methods for scientific rigor and capacity building in this burgeoning area
By accelerating research in the area of patient safety and quality improvement, collaborative ISRN research efforts will produce reliable findings about optimal improvement strategies and will yield benchmarks for evidence-based quality improvement. Furthermore, collaboration among ISRN members will allow the collegial exchange of ideas, thereby creating a new community of learning and camaraderie in this field. The participants in these research efforts will become, by definition, leaders in the field of improvement science.
