Community Platica: A Study & Gathering for Individuals and Families Impacted by Dementia: March 21st, 2025 at 10:00AM-2:00PM. Located at the Brownsville Public Library – Main Branch. 2600 Central Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78520.
Event Details:
Did you know Latinos have a significantly higher risk for Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia? But Latinos are not well represented in research about Dementia. We believe research should include the communities who are most impacted by dementia.
We are a group of community members and researchers who are working together to conduct a study to better understand how connecting with communities may improve representation of Latinos in dementia-related research.
We are inviting individuals who live in South Texas who are either living with dementia, caring for someone with dementia, are community health workers who support families impacted by dementia, or are impacted by dementia in another way to participate in this study.
Please consider enrolling in our study so you can attend a community platica where we will learn what is important to you, your culture, and your family about dementia.
