Clinical Research Unit (CRU)

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is an outpatient site for both adult and pediatric studies conducted within the University. It includes a 2,500 sq. ft. core facility conveniently located within the Medical Arts & Science Center (MARC) .

The facility is staffed by 2 skilled research RNs, a Lab Manager, and a Medical Assistant, and includes 4 standard exam rooms, 2 infusion chairs, facilities for sample collection, sample processing laboratory complete with refrigerated centrifuges and a -80°C sample freezer, and a protected  investigational drug pharmacy with ambient and cold storage.

The CRU’s location within the MARC maximizes the efficiency of clinician scientist participation in research and provides a “one-stop” convenience for patients enrolled in clinical and translational science projects.
